New Kicks

I had a surprise come through the door the other day.

One of those surprises that you have needed for a little while, but still get excited when it arrives.

I think the Nike logo gives it away... But let's stay excited for a moment.

Ready?

Ta daaarrrrr!

A pair of brand new Nike Freestyle 5.0.

The 5.0 might not mean much to you, but if you go to the gym or run then it makes all the difference. Let me explain...

Nike class their freestyle running shoes on three different styles. 3.0,4.0 and 5.0
The lower the number, the more flexible the shoe is. It's really simple, but it makes a huge difference.

All of the styles are all reallllyyyy light which means your legs don't feel as heavy when your training compared to other shoes. The idea is that you feel like you are running barefoot whilst having support

Track and road runners should go for a 4.0 or 5.0, as these provide the most support for your foot, whereas 3.0 is more suitable to those who run on the treadmill or want to wear a pair to do circuits or a gym session. The sole is designed to flex with every step you take and provide support.

I absolutely love them simply because they are so light and don't feel so clunky or weighing me down when I run!

The 5.0 are also the perfect pair to wear out and about.

Fashionista's, grab yourself a pair here and pair them with a pair of skinny rolled-up jeans and baggy tee.

When you open the box, you are also introduced to Nike+. A little bonus along with the snazzy shoes!

The trainers are fitted with a sensor, which links up to the Nike+ app.

Then, every time you go for a run, you can track how far and how fast you ran. Pretty cool stuff isn't it! You gain points and 'Nike Fuel' which you can share with friends and rate your runs.
There is also a coach feature, which will give you a training plan for running anything from 5k to a marathon!

If you are running the London marathon this weekend, then check whether your shoes have the sensor. It not, you can still use the app and track your run, all you need to do is download it here.

Good luck everyone running the London marathon!

I am off for my first competition of the season, wish me luck!
